William W. Brewster, Sr., 80

LYNN — William Weston Brewster, Sr., 80, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. William was the devoted and beloved husband of Elda (Gregory) Brewster with whom he would have shared 60 years of marriage in July.

Born and educated in Lynn, Bill was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Dodge) Brewster. He was the loving father of Steven Brewster and his wife, Joyce of Lynn, Cheryl Deluca and her husband, Michael of Peabody and the late William W. Brewster, Jr.; the cherished grandfather of Rachelle Brewster and William R. Brewster and Christopher and Mykayla DeLuca; the adoring great-grandfather of Madison and Liam; the dear brother of 12 siblings; the uncle of many nieces and nephews and several close friends.

Bill served in the U.S. Army in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Coca Cola Company in Lynn as a Supervisor and Plant Manager for 35 years until his retirement in 1993. After his retirement he worked as a full time maintenance consultant for over 20 years for Lynn Ladder, housed in the former Coca Cola plant. Bill was a lifelong member of the Knights of Pythias and was a recipient of their highest award, the Golden Spur. He was an avid local sports fan, especially of the Patriots. He was member of a group of several Lynners and neighbors who’ve known each other almost 70 years that became close friends and still socialize a few times each month to this day. Most of all, though, Bill was truly devoted to his family and loved to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
