William L. Gallo, 81
LYNN — William L. Gallo, age 81, of Lynn, died Sunday in the Devereux House in Marblehead after a lengthy illness.
A lifelong Lynn resident, he was the son of the late Nichola and Mary E. (Spinello) Gallo. William was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.
He served in the United States Air Force 3370th Air Police Squadron during the Korean Conflict. A stone mason, he was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 22. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Valladolid Council #70, Lynn.
He is survived by four sisters, Josephine Donovan of Saugus, Carolyn Gambale-Markowsky of Lynn, Jean Sousa of Manchester, N.H., and Janice Ventresca of Medford; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Caroline, Luke, Charles and Gerald Gallo.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn, with U.S. Air Force Honors.
