Viola M. Kellegrew, 95
CHELMSFORD — Viola May (Frederick) Kellegrew, recently of Chelmsford and formerly of Medford, Lynn and Saugus, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley. She was 95 years old. Viola was the beloved wife of the late Wallace R. Kellegrew, who died in 2017, and the late Hershel Giggey who died in 1965.
She was born in Revere on June 29, 1923 and was a daughter of the late James and Mildred (Sylvester) Frederick.
Viola was raised in Saugus and after graduating from Saugus High School, was employed as a typist at General Electric. She resided in both Revere and Saugus before settling in Lynn to raise her family. Viola enjoyed music and dancing and loved her time spent singing with the Sweet Adeline’s chorus group in Lynn. Wallace and Viola resided in Medford for 30 years before moving to Chelmsford.
Viola is survived by her daughters, June Giggey of Lynn, Patricia Moya and her husband Chris of California, Barbara Zysk of Haverhill, Ellen Stuckey and her husband Charles of Merrimac, and Beverly Brown and her husband John of Westford; her grandchildren, Matthew Moya, Kim Zysk, Jamie Zysk, Cassie Shackleton, Nikki Shackleton and Jeffrey Richardson; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Alec and Hunter; and her brother, Al Frederick of California; and many nieces and nephews. Viola was sadly predeceased by two grandchildren, Dan Robichaud and Jessie Shackleton, her siblings, John Frederick, Mildred DeFranzo and Dorothy Court.
Service information: Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 8 p.m. Interment will be private. Funeral director Paul A.
