Vincent P. Concannon, 86

SWAMPSCOTT — Mr. Vincent P. Concannon, 86, of Swampscott, died peacefully at home on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of 63 years to Barbara (Grady) Concannon.

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, to the late Stephen and Katherine (Feeney) Concannon, Vincent lived much of his life in Swampscott.  He graduated Cheverus High School in Portland in 1950, and Boston College in 1958.

Vincent served in the Navy from 1950-1954 and then worked as a teacher for many years. He was very involved with his church and served as a lector at St. John the Evangelist in Swampscott. Vincent was also a strong supporter of My Brother’s Table in Lynn.

Vincent is survived by his wife Barbara of Swampscott; son Kevin (Margo) Concannon of Virginia; daughter Mary (Greg) Miller of Swampscott, daughter Cathy (David) Kalpin of Swampscott, daughter Carol (Chris) Hawthorne of Salem, daughter Stephanie (John) Coletti of Swampscott; his grandchildren, Sean and Brandon Concannon, Matthew, Stephanie and Jennifer Miller, Katelyn (Luke) Bradley, Michael (Meaghan) Kalpin, Christopher (Kit) Kalpin, Emily and James Hawthorne, Megan and Paul Coletti, great grandchildren John Kalpin and Jordan Bradley; his siblings, Rev. Stephen Concannon of New Hampshire, Kevin (Eileen) Concannon of Maine, Gerard (Pam) Concannon of Maine, Mary Ann (Jim) Lamson of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Margaret and Ray Veroneau, and brother Joseph Concannon.

Service information: Vincent’s funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 at 10 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn, followed by funeral Mass at 11 a.m. St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott, and burial at Swampscott Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
