Thomas H. Call, 80
DANVILLE, N.H. — Thomas H. “Tom” Call, age 80, of Danville, N.H. and formerly of Lynn, died on Friday, September 6, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Nancy A. (Papparelli) Call with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage and always referred to her as “my Nancy”. Born in Lynn on September 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Reginald W. and Selma A. (Gullifer) Call. Tom was raised in Lynn, attended Lynn Public Schools and lived in Lynn until moving to “Camp Eureka”, a name he had for his home in Danville, NH, to be closer to his tribe, three years ago. In 1955, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served until being honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal in 1960. Tom worked as a letter carrier in Peabody and was a chef at Anthony’s Fine Restaurants. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 25 and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He loved serving others, had a deep appreciation for art and loved animals and nature. Tom was a volunteer tour guide at the Lee Mansion and a creative story teller. He enjoyed reading, gardening and was a self-proclaimed “Pirate” at heart. He was deeply committed to his family, always referring to his daughters, granddaughter and sister as “his girls” and also leaves behind his beloved companion ‘Joey the cat’.
Tom was the loving father of Tracy Ebbett and her husband Donald Jr. of Danville, NH and Tammy Rogers and her significant other Thomas Burgess of Haverhill; cherished grandfather of Christa Karatza of Chester, NH; loving brother of Darilyn and Michael Dipietro of Haverhill, Richard “Dick” and Noreen Call of York, PA and William “Billy” Call of Chelsea. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, in-laws and other close family and friends including, Gerard “Jerry” Poirier, Peter Rogers and his best friend Kenny Mobray. In addition to his wife and parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother Eugene Call.
Service information: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn at 11a.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
