Teresa C. Larrabee, 87
Teresa Claire (Gilmore) Larrabee, 87, died on February 7 at Salem Hospital of pneumonia.
She was the daughter of Amy (Wesolowski) Krummer and Joseph Gilmore. Born and raised in Lynn, she was a graduate of Classical High School where her only daughter Patty (Egnet/ White) Frey is currently a teacher. Skilled in math, she held positions as a bank teller and cosmetic counter sales representative during her younger days, then retired from Puritan Medical Center as a secretary. She worked part – time after her retirement as a sales clerk in several fashion stores and as a receptionist at the YMCA where she enjoyed working out.
Terri was a spitfire fashionista who never had a bad hair, makeup or clothes day. She drove a 66 white Mustang for many years and continued to ride her friends and family everywhere they needed to go. She lived in the moment, loved to dance, never could be intimidated and often defended those who couldn’t defend themselves. She took exceptional care of her mother during her challenging years and was the epitome of a role model as the “devoted daughter.” Very tender and loving, thoughtful and extremely proud of her own daughter, her friends and family will miss her engaging excitement for life and her sense of humor when she got everyone fired up and laughing to the point of tears.
She lived in Lynn and Nahant all her life where she spent time on the beach sunning and sailing. Always in good health, her last three years became challenging as she experienced several strokes over the course of 2 years. During this time, she managed independently and enjoyed living with her best friend Anna Rooney at Sutton House in Peabody, Northshores’ best kept secret, where she had been known to raise a ruckus. She spent her last months in Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody where she made close friendships and received exceptional care.
She is predeceased by her first son in law Michael White of Nahant, and her cousins William (Sonny) Wesolowski, Lorraine (Wesolowski) Conroy and Virginia (Wesolowski) Gigure. Besides her beloved daughter, she leaves behind her son in law Marc Frey of Haverhill, her cousin Emily Morgan and her family in Marblehead, and her best friends who she spent time shopping, going to concerts and traveling with, Anastasia Sofronas of Nahant and Anna Rooney of New Orleans, LA.
