Susan J. Fleming, 72

LYNN — Susan J. Fleming, 72, of Lynn, died on Thursday, March 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Susan was the daughter of the late Henry F. and Margarita (Johnson) Callahan. She was born and raised in Lynn and attended Lynn schools and spent summers with her family at Lake Winnipesaukee. She furthered her education and was a proud graduate of Colby College where she studied social work.

Following college, she took some time to travel overseas visiting Europe. She especially enjoyed her time in Austria. When she returned stateside Susan began working for United Airlines. She would later move to California, spending several years there until her return to Lynn to care for her parents. Upon her return Susan worked various jobs including as an administrative assistant at Temple Emanu-El of Salem. She also worked for Hotwatt of Danvers until her retirement.

Susan was a member of AA. It was there that she met her husband, the late Edward Fleming. Together they shared wonderful moments sailing and spending time in Marblehead with their friends. Susan enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being in the company of family.

Susan is predeceased by her parents, her husband Edward Fleming, and her sister Jeana Cleveland. Surviving is her daughter, Sara Mauser and her husband Kamden J. Mauser; their children, Kamden, Colin and Kyle Mauser, all of Lynnfield. Also surviving is her dear sister, Janet Glennan and her husband Bob of Redding, Conn.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Service information: Friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, April 13 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 135 Lafayette St., Marblehead.
