Olga Calixte, 56
Olga Calixte, age 56, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 31 at Winter Hill Hospice Center in Lincoln.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1962 in Haiti to Matilde Desvil and Siffraus Clermeus. Olga derived from a large family, exhibited a determination that took her from the farms of Haiti, school, work and politics where she become the mayor of Delmas, Haiti, before restarting her life anew in the United States with her partner in marriage, Alix Calixte. During her journey she gave birth to three children, Bechevah Gaelle, Alex Mardoche, and Nephthali Adah. Calixte.
Throughout the years, Olga cherished her work as CNA, displaying the kindest heart and a strong ability to connect with families. She was known by her colleagues and patients for her passion, creativity, and kindness. Olga enjoyed engaging with family/friends, shopping, cooking, and most importantly her extensive work with her beloved El Siloe Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she was a member of the Tresor Du Ciel choir group, Ecole du Sabbath Committee, Service Communite, Pathfinders, and Diaconat.
In life, Olga was a proud woman, with a delightful sense of humor who believed that there was no obstacle she could not overcome. Her children, family, and friendship provided her with an endless stream of support, strength, and love throughout her illness. Thank you to all who have cherished and supported my mother, she will be missed, but her memory will live on in us forever.
