Michael S. Hennessey, 66
Michael S. Hennessey, age 66, formerly of Lynn, passed away on Aug. 5, 2019 after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Hennessey of Norwood; daughter, Allison Balko and her husband Ryan; and beloved grandsons Aiden and Quinn of Hopedale. Mike was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Deschenes) Hennessey, and was the brother of Paul Hennessey of Melrose and David Hennessey of Pelham, N.H.
Mike attended Lynn Public Schools and went on to graduate from Salem State Teachers College. His proudest achievements came from teaching middle school at Pickering and Fecteau-Leary and watching some of his students become teachers themselves. Prior to teaching, Mike became an all-around machinist at General Electric, as his grandfather, uncles and cousins had been. He had a sly sense of humor often disguised in a faux-gruff persona. Mike was usually the smartest person in the room.
