Michael J. Olson, 59

Mr. Michael J. Olson, 59, of Everett passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House with his family at his side after a lengthy illness.

Michael was born August 24, 1960 in Lynn, he is the son of Jeffrey N. and Judith (McGuinness) Olson of Lynn. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1978, he went on to further his education at Wentworth Technical Institute. Michael resided in Everett for the past 20 years and previously resided in Lynn.

Michael worked as a Chef at many local restaurants for several years having retired due to ill health. He previously worked at Eastern Tool and Stamping with his father.

  As a teenager Michael was treated for Leukemia at the Jimmy Fund for 2.5 years. Michael enjoyed cooking and bowling. He was Past Commander of the DAV Auxiliary Unit 85 in Malden

In addition to his loving parents Michael is survived by his son Jeffrey S. Olson of Everett, his brothers and sister John Olson and his wife Kathryn of Lynn, David Olson and his wife Kathleen of Chelmsford, Eric Olson and his wife Courtney of Boxford and Christine O’Toole and her husband Patrick of West Roxbury. Michael is also survived by his former wife Debora Norton-Olson of Everett, his step daughter Crystal Millard and her children Angel and Austin Millard of Everett as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael is predeceased by his grandparents Robert and Gertrude Olson, Dr. James Leo and Mary McGuinness as well as his brother Jay Olson.

Service information: Michael’s visiting hours will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 4-8 PM. His Funeral Service will be in the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning, October 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery.
