Marvene E. Kasper, 83

Marvene E. Kasper, 83

NAHANT — Marvene E. (Jacobsen) Kasper, 83, of Nahant, wife of James T. Kasper, passed away peacefully at her home on Nov. 2, 2019.

Born in Swampscott to the late Franz “Jake” and Mabel Jacobsen, Marvene was raised in Nahant and chose to raise her family there as well. She attended Lynn English High School and was the oldest sibling to her brothers Arthur, Richard and Stanley, all who have predeceased her. In 1955, she became engaged when she received a diamond ring in the mail, sent from North Africa, where James was stationed as Air Force Military Police. In 1968 Marvene went on to co-found, with her husband, their family business, Pudgy’s Towing and Auto Repair, of Lynn and happily retired from the business in 2007.

She enjoyed traveling, especially on the many cross-country trips she took with her husband. Over the years, her most enjoyable moments were spent with her family and sharing in life events of her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Marvene’s life was devoted to her husband and her family, of whom she was so very proud.

Marvene is survived by her husband, James T. “Pudgy” Kasper, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage; her three children, Thomas and partner Paula of Peabody, Robert of Peoria, Ariz., and Linda of Peabody; her four grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife Amber, Jennifer and her partner CJ, Treven and Tresten; and her great-granddaughter, Makenna. She was the proud aunt of many Jacobsen/Kasper nieces and nephews and blessed with lifelong friends Raymond and Lenora Richard of Deltona, Fla. She was, also, the loving mother-in-law of the late Dale E. Kasper.
