Marjorie V. Smith, 81
LYNN — Marjorie V. “Margie” Smith, age 81, of Lynn, died unexpectedly on Monday at her home. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W.A. and Barbara M. (Watson) Smith. A lifelong Lynn resident, she was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1953.
Margie had worked as a credit authorizer for Sears for 23 years until her retirement. She loved reading and word search puzzles. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family, and spending summers at the lake. Every one of her family members has an afghan that Margie crocheted.
She is survived by her children; Kathy Skillings-Murach and her husband Robert of Adams, John Trecartin and his wife Kris of Acton, Calif., Susan Janice and her husband Gary of Lynn, and Tammy Trecartin and her sidekick Louie Dropski of Limerick, Maine; as well as nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Wendy LeGault, the former wife of the late Norman R. Skillings and the late John H. Trecartin, Sr.; and the longtime companion of the late Alessio Rosato.
Service information: Her memorial service will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt129), Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., prior to the service.
