Marilyn Catherine Petkevitch, 87, wife of the late Alexander D. Petkevitch, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully with family at Addison Gilbert Hospital on Jan. 25, 2020.
She was born in Haverhill on Jan. 15, 1933, son of the late Joseph Sr. and Margaret (McCaron) Zmuda.
Marilyn graduated from Chelsea Soldiers Home with a degree in nursing. She was a nurse at Union Hospital in Lynn for more than 20 years, working mainly in the oncology unit. She was an avid golfer and loved to walk on Good Harbor Beach with her dogs Trixie and later, Quiznos. She joins her beloved husband, Al Petkevitch, who passed away in 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Dalferro and husband, Jack of Norwell; two sons, Al Petkevitch and wife Sarah of West Newfield, Maine, and Steve Petkevitch and wife Pamela of Lynn; and seven grandchildren, Zach, Alexandra, Marissa, Tim, Steven, Nicholas and Troy.
Service information: Visiting hours for Marilyn will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 5-7 p.m. in the GREELY Funeral Home at 212 Washington St. in Gloucester. Her funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Gloucester, with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in East Gloucester.
