Former business ownerLYNN – Mrs. Margaret A. (Poirier) Mallett, age 91, formerly of Salem and Lynn, died Sunday in a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late Edmund A. Mallett.Born in Poirierville, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Georgina (Gagnon) Poirier. She came to this country when she was a young girl and lived in East Boston. She lived in Lynn for the greater part of her life and lived in Salem since 1990.For six years she owned the Pioneer Motel in West Thornton, N.H. Prior to that, she owned retail businesses in Lynn.She was a former communicant of St. Pius V Church, Lynn.She leaves a son, Edmund A. Mallett and his wife Jeanne of Billerica; a daughter, Georgianna Feick of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Edmund A. Mallett and his wife Diane of New Hampshire and Linda Galvao and her husband Luis of Tewksbury; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
