Lynda Olson Kiansten, 59
BRADENTON, Fla. — Lynda (Olson) Kiansten, 59, died bravely and peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 in Bradenton, Fla., after beating cancer but then suffering from ALS.
Lynda was born in Lynn on April 22, 1959. She grew up in the Fay Estate and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1977 as well as UMass Amherst.
Having spent many years in the travel industry, Lynda was able to travel the world and brought friends and family to many wonderful destinations. Although Lynda had a great love for New England, Cambridge, and Marshfield, Lynda migrated to Florida where she was able to showcase her artistic talents through art, jewelry making, repurposing, and resale boutique design at her beloved Brocante Market in Sarasota. Lynda was a featured artist in Sarasota Magazine.
She was in her zone when she was “picking” at Brimfield or Todd Farm Antique Market. She was also an advocate for stray animals, loved the Sarasota Film Festival, Kelly’s Roast Beef and Grammy O. When I hear Fleetwood Mac, The Pousette Dart Band, or Pure Prairie League, just to name a few, I think of Lynda.
Lynda was so funny, a great cook and had a huge heart, always thinking of others. Lynda leaves her dog Penny, and a lot of people who loved her very much. Lynda’s memory will be honored in a remembrance service in Sarasota, Fla., in January of 2019.
