Louise R. Melendez
Angels were in short supply, so it’s just like her to step up. Louise Robin Melendez of Peabody, aka “Louie” or “Mae-Mae,” passed peacefully surrounded by family.
She always lived her life with the best of intentions, was kind, especially to those in need, often adopting elderly neighbors. She had a deep faith in God until the very end. She was loyal, generous, selfless, literally gave the shirt off her back, AND you never wanted to mess with her! She was a walking encyclopedia. She received her medical degree from WebMD (wink, wink). “Dr. Melendez” was always eager to diagnose and often caused people to draft their wills prematurely. She was creative, crafty, and was known to unravel a crocheted blanket when she was almost done but found a mistake at the beginning. Louise was an avid fan of Sci-Fi. Kids everywhere will miss her pancakes, bacon feasts and her extensive movie collection. She forcefully inspired her children and family members to do their very best.
She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Buckley (Calnan) of Peabody. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Israel Melendez; her son Israel and his wife Donna (Glenn Burnie, Md.), son William and his wife Kristin (Lynn); her daughter, Georgianna and her husband Jim Cowley (Peabody); and her six grandchildren, Parris, Breanna, Timothy, Sam, Alex and Daniel. She will also be missed by her aunt and lifelong bestie GG Caminero, best friends Anne Aia, Cathy Hanley and April Maurais, her sisters Eva Barros, Jeannette Mangold, April Bik and Roxanne Calnan, and many other close family and friends (we’re just too cheap to pay for more names).
