Linda C. Springer, 73

MELROSE — Linda C. (Brewer) Springer, age 73, of Melrose and formerly of Saugus and Lynn, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 following a brief illness. She was the longtime partner of Larry Grant of Stoneham.

Born in Lynn in 1945, Linda was the daughter of the late George and Claire (Simoneau) Brewer. She attended St. Pius V School, Pickering Jr. High School and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1963. She lived in Lynn until 1979, later moving to Saugus until 1999 and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 20 years.

Linda worked as a lead patient account representative for Hallmark Health from April of 1994 until November of 2016. She was a loyal supporter of the Saugus VFW and member of the Saugus/Everett Elks. She was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed her football pools, scratch tickets and playing Keno. Linda was a true friend and loved being a grandmother, “Nana Lin” to Nicholas and Matthew and never missed a sporting event or graduation no matter where it was in the country. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, beautiful smile and laugh.  

In addition to her partner Larry, Linda is survived by her loving son, David Stanley and his wife Natalie of Lynn; her beloved grandsons, Nicholas Stanley of Phoenix, Ariz., and Matthew Stanley of Lynn; her sister, Claire Brewer and her husband Bob Gutowski of Louden, N.H.; her brother, George Brewer Jr. and his wife Donna of Middlebury, Vt.; her nephews and nieces, John Phillips, Timothy Kniffen, Ivy Kniffen and Julie Scribner; her step-son, David Springer and her former husband Everett Springer. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brother Richard Brewer and sister Dawna Phillips.

Service information: A funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
