Former General Electric employeeLYNNFIELD-Mrs. Kathryn T. “Kay” (Coakley) Payne, age 97, formerly of Lynnfield, died Sunday in a local nursing home. She is the wife of the late William G. Payne. Born in Saugus, she is the daughter of the late Thomas Mulvey and Catherine (Conroy) Coakley.Kay was raised in Saugus and is a graduate of Saugus High School. She had lived in Saugus and Lynn before moving to Lynnfield 40 years ago. She worked as a secretary for B & M Railroad and later at General Electric, Lynn. She was an active communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lynnfield. Kay enjoyed going to auctions, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by 5 nephews; Richard Brown of Peabody, Ronald Coakley of CT, Kevin Coakley of NJ, John Coakley of FL, and Stanley Brown of SC; 7 nieces; Jeane Matteo of NC, Joane Tomaski of NJ, Janet Hammond of CT, Sharon Kaloust of NH, Karen St. Clair of Wakefield, Linda Landry of Saugus and Pamelyn Zermani of Saugus. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Symonne Coakley of FL and her dear friend, Nina Emory of Lynnfield. She is the sister of the late Henry, Francis, Thomas and John Coakley and the late Gladys Brown.Service Information: Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt 129) Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
