Katherine T. “Kay” (Papas) Arvanites, 92

Lynn – Katherine T “Kay” (Pappas) Arvanites, 92, of Lynn, died peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021 surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late James P. Arvanites and the daughter of the late Thomas and Andania (Christofilopoulos) Pappas.

She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and lived in Lynn her entire life.  She worked at Linden Shoe in the 1940’s, Agganis Restaurant in the 1970’s and Singer Sewing Co. in the 1980’s.  She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn.  One of Katherine’s greatest joys was children where she served as a PTA officer, lunch aide and as a Girl Scout Troop Leader at Sewell Anderson School.   But her greatest joy of all was her family. Katherine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, YiaYia and Great YiaYia.  She loved cooking and being surrounded by her family for Sunday dinners, birthdays, and holiday celebrations.

Katherine is survived by her children, Peter Arvanites and his wife Cynthia of Peabody, Diane Arvanites and her husband Tommy Neblett of Framingham and Elaine Parsons and her husband Stephen of Peabody.  She also leaves her grandchildren, Kate and Alexandra Arvanites, Adam Noya, Stephanie Parsons, her great-grandchildren Alivia and Avery Eaton and her cousin, Tom Pappas, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of late Louis Pappas and Angelina “Ann” Deleon.
