John F. Sullivan, 76
LYNN — John F. Sullivan, age 76, of Lynn, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, after a long illness.
Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Genevieve (Horth) Sullivan. He attended St. Joseph’s School in Lynn, and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1959. He had lived in Lynn for the greater part of his life.
John served in the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1963. He had worked as a shop steward in the tool and die department at General Electric in Lynn. He was also a proud member of IUE-CWA Local 201. He loved politics, playing cards and playing pool. Described as a “good guy,” he was very social, and had friends of all ages. He loved his family and was a wonderful father and grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Sullivan-Rivera and her husband Richard; his grandchildren, Madelyn, Chloe and Emily Rivera; his great-grandchild, Zyla Rivera Bruno; his former wife, Patricia A. (Connolly) Sullivan; his sister, Joanne Sullivan; his brother, Paul Sullivan; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late David C. Sullivan and brother of the late Richard “Dicky” Sullivan.
Service information: His memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 12-4 p.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, which will conclude with U.S. Air Force Military Funeral Honors.
