Joan M. Henri, 68, Co-owner of North Shore Heating Supply

READING — Mrs. Joan M. (Atkinson) Henri, 68, of Reading, died August 24, 2018 at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with COPD.  Born in Lynn to Joseph “Lenny” Atkinson and the late Irene Zwicker, Joanie lived in Lynn for 65 years before moving to Reading for the past 3 years. She attended Brickett Elementary, Eastern Junior High, Lynn English (class of 1968), and North Shore Community College (class of 1969), and she then earned her Associates Degree from Marion Court College in 1989. She was the co-owner of North Shore Heating Supply along with her husband John for many years.  Joanie was also a former member of Ipswich Country Club and Gannon Golf Course.

Joanie is survived by her father Joseph “Lenny” Atkinson and his partner Gert Vieira of Lynn; her loving husband of 48 years John Henri; her children Yvonne Story and her husband Thomas of Rockport, and John Henri Jr. and his wife Melissa of Reading; her 5 grandchildren Jordan, Caitlyn, Austin, Victoria, and Nicholas; her siblings Daniel Atkinson of Beverly, Paul Atkinson and his wife Carol of Lynnfield, and Joseph Atkinson and his fiancée Kristen Colella of Lynn; her aunts and uncles James Atkinson of Peabody, Bob Atkinson of Northboro, Irene and Dave Lee of Lynn, Dick Atkinson of Ariz., Pat Sullivan of Calif., and Jean and Bob Blakely of Saugus; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Irene Zwicker, step-father Ralph Zwicker, brother Tom Atkinson, and uncle Bob and aunt Carol Malcolm.

Service information: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129) in Lynn, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
