Jennie Adamo, 98
LYNN — Mrs. Jennie (Pujo) Adamo, 98, of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Budrick Center for living in Peabody following a lengthy illness. She is the wife of the late Vito W. Adamo Sr.
Jennie was born Feb. 15, 1921 in Permet, Albania. She is the daughter of the late Anastas and Alexandria (Rusha) Pujo. She was a resident of Lynn for most of her life. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1939.
Jennie had a strong passion in the kitchen and will be remembered for her home-cooked meals along with her delicious baked goods. When she wasn’t cooking, you could find her knitting one of her famous afghans, while she watched the television or talked on the phone with her family in New York. These diligent and working hands did more than just make food and materials, but were also used to serve and aid others. She advocated for those in need and provided assistance to those seeking better opportunities in this country. From raising money to offering transportation to even something as simple as supplying them with clothes, Jennie dedicated a mass amount of hours in this aspect of her life. Such a characteristic was also exemplified in how she cared for those in her own home as well. Her family and friends will always treasure the memories made with Jennie. The legacy she leaves behind and the values she imprinted in many hearts will forever be cherished.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Grenier, Vito W. Adamo III, Alexandria Pasquale, Anthony Adamo, and Elizabeth Usman; her great-grandchildren, Alexander, Elizabeth and William Pasquale, Gabriella and Nicholas Adamo, Isabelle and Nathaniel Grenier, Emmett and Abigail Usman. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Adamo of Nahant; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband and parents, Jennie was predeceased by her sons Vito W. Adamo Jr. and Richard E. Adamo, her daughter-in-law Colleen J. Adamo as well as her siblings Tulia Peter, Christies, Victor and Lefta Pujo.
Service information: Jennie’s visiting hours will be in the CUFFE-MCGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral will be from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 9 a.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
