Janet Van Amburg, 81
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Janet Van Amburg, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in North Fort Myers, Fla., on July 8, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born May 14, 1936, in Lynn, a daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Mosely) Thompson. She was married to Robert Van Amburg, who preceded her in death in 2004.
Janet grew up with her parents and sister Phylis in Lynn. She graduated Lynn English and Burdett College. She was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church, formerly Broadway United Methodist Church in Lynn. She was married to Robert in 1957 and lived in Lynn for most of her life. She also had a residence in North Fort Myers, Fla.
Janet will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her children, Karl Van Amburg and wife Patricia, Karen Conte and husband Richard, Karol McCue and husband Wayne, and Kristan Davies and husband Ronald; her grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, and Kelly Van Amburg, Jamie Crawford and Corie Alfonso, Kurt and Kara McCue, and Camryn, Cailyn, and Colin Davies; and her great grandchildren, Zachary Van Amburg, Ella, Chance and Connor Crawford, and Cullen, Kylynne, Jewel, and Bryce Courville.
Service information: A memorial gathering celebrating her life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 374 Broadway in Lynn on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church piano fund. Please make checks payable to Grace UMC and note that it is for the “Piano Fund.” A memorial donation could also be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
