Janet L. Brennan, 69
Janet L. Brennan, age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, with her family at her side.
Janet was born on April 23, 1949 in London, U.K. to Jessie Gunn Mackay. After growing up in Romford, U.K., Janet met her late husband Michael J. Brennan, a medic in the U.S. Air Force who was stationed partially in England during the Vietnam War. The two were married and Janet eventually emigrated to her husband’s hometown of Lynn with their two young children, Karen and Sean.
After immigrating to the United States, Janet worked as a longtime telephone operator, last being at Tewksbury State Hospital. After retiring, Janet relocated to Amesbury, where she was known by most as “Nana.”
Nana will be remembered for cracking jokes and spending time with her family and friends.
Nana is survived by her daughter, Karen Foley and husband, Shawn, of Amesbury; son, Sean Brennan of Athol; brother, Russell Harding and wife, Gill, of Chelmsford, U.K.; sister, Christine Carroll of Arizona; grandchildren, Patrick and Ryan Foley of Amesbury, Eric and Brianna Yates of Des Plaines, Ill., Sean, Shea and Brylie Brennan of Athol, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
Service information: Calling hours at the E.V. JUTRAS & SONS Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, are this Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 from 10-11:30 a.m., followed by a service and burial in the Union Cemetery in Amesbury.
