George L. Sullivan, 94
PITTSFIELD, N.H. — Mr. George L. Sullivan, age 94, of Pittsfield, N.H., and formerly of Lynn, died on Aug. 29, 2019. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Mullen) Sullivan.
Born in Stoneham on Nov. 26, 1924, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Mary Ellen (Sheehan) Abbott. George graduated from Stoneham High School, Class of 1942. He moved to Lynn in 1963.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal (one star) and the Philippine Liberation Medal.
George was the superintendent of Calvary Cemetery, Woburn for the Archdiocese of Boston Catholic Cemeteries for more than 20 years and retired in 1993.
Brother of the late William Sullivan and Joseph Sullivan, he leaves several nieces and nephews including Margaret Grunst of Pittsfield, N.H., Kathleen Smith of Lynn, Kevin Mullen of Sanford, Maine, Robin White of Leominster; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also the uncle of the late Cheryl Brown of Lee, N.H., and of Roy C. Mullen of Lynn.
