Edward Stetson, 92
LYNN — Edward Stetson, 92, of Lynn, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Care Dimensions hospice house in Lincoln. Edward was the beloved husband of the late Dorvalina (Santos) Stetson.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Ellis W. and Elsie J. (Tobin) Stetson.
Edward was the loving father of Edward Stetson Jr. and his wife, Carol of Salem, Gail Hanasik and her husband, Stephen of Chesapeake, Va.; the cherished grandfather of Christopher Stetson, Michael Stetson and his wife, Angela, Jeanie Garcia and her husband, Duarte, Jennifer Stetson, Deborah Armentrout-Bell and Gerald “Bubba” Armentrout and his late wife, Beth; the adoring great-grandfather of Matthew, Cameron, Leah, Tyler, Michael, Jessica, Jay, Trey and Austin; the great-great-grandfather of Aiden, Ryleigh and Jasper; the dear brother of the late Richard and Oliver Stetson; and the uncle of several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the loving Ciampa and Nicolo families, including his very special friends, Marie Frost and Dottie and Mike Ciampa.
Edward was raised and spent most of his life in Lynn. He served as a sergeant in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the 3501st Army Air Force Base Unit.
Edward was a painter for many years around the North Shore area and took his love of his trade and began to share his talent and worked with the Lynn School Department as a painter and glazer for 17 years before his retirement in 1979.
Always busy, Edward was a member of the American Legion, Franco American War Veterans, Post 12, and the Beverly VFW Vitorri and Rocci, Post 56. He had a love for gardening, dancing and his favorite sports teams, but he absolutely adored spending as much time as he could with his family.
Service information: Visiting hours will be held at CUFFE-MCGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Sunday, March 17 from 2-5 p.m. His funeral will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 18 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
