Dolores “Dodo” Sarver, 84

Dolores “Dodo” Sarver, 84

Georgetown, MA – Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

Dolores “Dodo” Ann Ruzzo Sarver of Georgetown, MA and formerly of Saugus, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House with family by her side. She was a warm, loving and comforting light that lit up every room and even in her absence, her light will forever shine on within the hearts and soul of the family she leaves behind. Dolores devoted every second of her 84 years of life to loving, nurturing and instilling the importance of family and togetherness.

Known by many who loved her as “Dodo,” she will be remembered by her bright smile and contagious laughter.  Dodo was born on January 27, 1936 to Theresa Ruzzo of Revere and was raised by a large family surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins. In 1957, Dodo married the love of her life, Jack Sarver with whom she enjoyed 55 years of marriage until his passing in February 2013. She was an active member of her community and will be forever be remembered in Saugus as the founder and Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce for 22 years and a contributing member of the Lions Club. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, neighbors at Parker River Landing in Georgetown and friends in Port Charlotte, FL. She was a devoted patron of St. Mary’s Church of Georgetown and an active member of the parish’s Women’s Group. Dodo loved golf, book club, knitting and staying involved in the day to day moments of her family’s lives. The rest of her time was devoted to the other loves of her life – her animals. Dodo was a dog lover, and throughout her life always had a spoiled four-legged companion by her side.

Dodo’s greatest accomplishment was the inseparable family she and Jack created. They were blessed with three children- Kurt, Scot, and Kristen, and their family grew as three wonderful children-in-laws were welcomed in- Kristen’s husband Paul, Scot’s wife Sarah, and Kurt’s husband Tom. “Nana Dodo” was an incredibly involved and loving grandmother to six adoring grandchildren- Jessica, Joseph, and Jake Sarver, and Kyra, Julia, and Lindsey D’Entremont-all of whom loved her beyond words. She was the proud matriarch of an Italian family and  leaves an everlasting legacy far beyond the Sunday dinners and many moments filled with laughter. Most importantly, she will be remembered for the family bond she nurtured that will forever live on within the people she loved most. She was an undeniable light to all that knew her. Even in her passing, that light shines even brighter through the eyes and hearts of all that were lucky enough to know her.
