David M. Higgins, 81
LYNN — Mr. David M. Higgins, 81 years, of Lynn, died on Monday evening, Aug. 5, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the husband of Mrs. Barbara L. (Ulm) Higgins, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
He was born in Lynn, the son of the late George and Lena (Amero) Higgins. He was raised in Lynn and lived in Lynn all of his life. He was a 1955 graduate of St. Mary’s Boy’s High School.
He was employed as an exterminator with Dennis the Menace exterminators. Mr. Higgins was involved in St. Mary’s Church in many capacities. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s. He served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, lector, senior acolyte and a member of the Altar Guild. He taught Sunday school, as well as worked the food pantry. Mr. Higgins pretty much did everything at St. Mary’s that needed to be done.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, David M. Higgins II and his wife Tracey of Manchester, N.H.; his daughter, Jean Higgins of Lynn; his brothers and sisters, James Higgins and Paul Higgins of Lynn, Ellen Dulivitz of Peabody and Nancy Amidon of Rowley; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Joshua Bellerose; and several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Sally DiPrisco, Virginia Carey, George, Russel and James Higgins.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
