LYNN — Bruce Albion Rideout, age 81, of Lynn, passed away and joined his beloved wife Diana, on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Lynn who spent 26 years working for the Lynn Water and Sewer Commission.
Bruce was the son of the late Ozro and Josephine (Spinney) Rideout, and the brother of the late Ozro Freeman Rideout Jr., Virginia Mary Frain and Barbara Piper.
Bruce had served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959 as an Airman 2nd class with the 496th Tactical Fighter Squadron in Europe.
He loved the fresh summer corn from Tilly’s Farm and eating breakfast at the Capital Diner. He thought his grandkids were the most incredible things on the planet. His cat “Peanut Butter Cup” meant the world to him. He enjoyed walking around his yard and sharing laughs with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Kecia Rideout and her fiancé James Barrett, Theresa Wood and her partner Mike Scaduto, David Beals, Bruce Rideout Jr., and Donald Yezerski and his wife Laurie; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kenneth Wood Jr., Keith Wood, Nicholas Wood, Julie Wood, Tara Beals, Jamie Beals, Patrick Beals, Damien Wood, Kaylah Wood, Jodie Yezerski, Victoria Wellman, Aniela Suttle, Jackson Banks, Lucian Wellman, Kenny Wood, Lily Wood, Dominic Rideout, Arianna Green, Andrew Newhall and Diana Wood; and his niece, Jean McMahon of Winthrop.
Service information: His funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
