Longtime Saugus residentSAUGUS-Mrs. Beverly J. (Sampson) Cashen, age 72, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Mrs. Cashen was surrounded during her final days by her friends and family. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Cashen.Born in Lynn and raised in Pennsylvania and in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Ida (Walkey) Sampson. A longtime and active member of the Cliftondale Congregational Church, Mrs. Cashen was a graduate of Saugus High School. She also participated in the Wakefield Community Chorus.She is survived by four daughters; Lynia Carideo and her husband Frank of Danvers, Lori Blood and Bob Clemens of Stoneham, Donna Johnson and her husband Barry of Wenham and Diane McKinley and her husband Dave of Melrose. Mrs. Cashen was the sister of John Sampson and his wife Georgette of Lexington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Kelsey and Danny Carideo, Steven Clemens, Kyle and Casey Johnson, Meaghan and Shane McKinley.Donations in her memory may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 204 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.Service information: A funeral service will be held in the Cliftondale Congregational Church, 50 Essex Street, SAUGUS, on Friday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS.
