Barbara A. Hopkins, 83
AMESBURY — Barbara Ann (Frasca) Hopkins, of Amesbury, passed on Jan. 4, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. Her immediate family was at her side. She was the beloved wife of Timothy J. Ryan of Amesbury and the late Robert J. Hopkins, who died in 1993.
Born in Lynn, on July 2, 1934, one of six children of the late Dominic and Mary (Schiapucci) Frasca, she graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1954.
Barbara had worked for Atwood and Morrill and was an office manager for the Massachusetts Department of Children, retiring in 1996.
She enjoyed being a team leader with TSL (The Single Life) and the Lunch Bunch. Some of her favorite activities included her travels all over the world and most enjoyed her times in Wolfeboro, N.H. Dancing, bowling, hiking and trips to Foxwoods kept her constantly on the move. Above all else Barbara cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren as they did with her.
In addition to her husband, Timothy, of Amesbury, she leaves behind her children, Wayne R. Hopkins and his spouse Debi (McCreedy) of Cambridge, Bobbi A Hopkins and her spouse Carolyn (McGill) of Leverett, and Dean W. Hopkins and his spouse Karen (Matson) of Georgetown, her grandchildren, Tyler Hopkins and his spouse Gabriel (King), Emilee Hopkins, Jessica Hopkins, Colin Hopkins, Kathryn Hopkins-McGill, Dana Hopkins-McGill, and Tim’s daughter Kelly Ryan, and her dearly beloved dog Pepe. She also leaves behind her siblings, Michael Frasca and Dennis Frasca, along with a number of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Joanne Williams and her brothers, Daniel and Donald Frasca
A most heartfelt “Thank You” is extended to the Kaplan Family Hospice House and Care Dimensions visiting staff for the wonderful care they gave to Barbara.
