Barbara E. Gudaitis, 86
BEVERLY — Barbara E. (Robinson) Gudaitis, 86, passed away peacefully on April 12 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of the late Robert G. Gudaitis, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
A resident of Beverly for 53 years, she was born in Wakefield and raised in Lynnfield and Lynn. She was the daughter of late Joseph G. Robinson and E. Alice (Green) Robinson. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1952.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and friend. Known for her high energy and enthusiasm, she worked for many years at Beverly Hospital, the Wenham Country Club, and had her own craft and sewing business. She was also an enthusiastic gardener and baker of cinnamon twists for special people. Barb could do it all — so whether you needed a home-cooked meal, your pants hemmed or a tee time, people knew who to call. She also leaves many dear friends at the Weathervane Tavern in Hamilton, where she and Bob regularly attended on Friday nights for more than 25 years.
Above all, Barb was devoted to her family, and took great pride in her three children and nine grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and relished in all of their school/sports events and personal accomplishments. “Grammy” and “Grammy G.” will be deeply missed by all of them.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Michael and his wife Elaine of Amesbury, Jean Tarricone and her husband Louis of Danvers, and John of New Bern, N.C. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Nathan, Zachary and Annie Tarricone of Danvers, Ryan and Ella Gudaitis of New Bern, N.C.; her special step-grandchildren, Morgan and Mia Kelly of Scarborough, Maine, and Savannah and Scarlet Kelly of Salisbury. Barb was also the loving sister of Ethel Schutt of Attleboro, and the late Priscilla Beck of Greenwood, Miss., and the late Edna Harvey of Revere. She was also the sister-in-law of Richard P. Gudaitis and his companion Marilyn McAskill of Lynn and South Venice, Fla. Barb also leaves numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
