Join artist Laura Kathrein as she leads participants through a series of movement exercises in the gallery and at waterfront locations in Salem, Lynn and Beverly inspired by the paintings on view in the exhibition In American Waters. What is a movement workshop? Participants are invited to move the body in ways that feel good without judgment as they are led through a series of accessible creative exercises. The body and the body’s natural movements are used as a tool for investigation and expression of the artwork.
In this session, Laura will focus on the work Seacoast by Thomas Doughty. Participants will then meet at King’s Beach in Swampscott to participate in a special movement workshop. This workshop is offered as a series throughout the summer and is accessible for all physical mobility and movement experience. Directions sent upon registration.
