Team of the Week – Peabody girls lacrosse

Joey Barrett

April 25, 2023 by Joey Barrett

You know what I’ve been thinking? It’s hard having four games in one week, and even harder to win all four. Well, simply put, the Peabody girls lacrosse team felt like doing it this past week. With wins against Marblehead, Danvers, Gloucester, and Beverly (spanning just six days), Peabody completed its perfect week. Brooke Lomasney made headlines against Marblehead with six goals, followed by Ally Bettencourt who netted five as Peabody won 14-8. Fast forward to the Danvers game, and the final score read 15-9 with Lomasney potting another six, and Caitlin Snow standing tall with 12 saves. As if the week needed more theatrics, Madi Barrett scored her 100th career point in a 14-1 victory against Gloucester a few days later – yeah, the starpower on this team is hard to believe. Then, there was Saturday, a 17-5 win against Beverly as Bettencourt added five more goals to her total. Snow recorded another seven saves between the pipes, and the undefeated week was complete. To the coaching staff, players, and fans who showed their support at all four games, good week.
