Animals
A caller reported finding a husky at 1:41 p.m. Sunday at 44 Ballard St. and being unable to locate the owner. The dog was dropped off with the animal control officer.
A caller reported a coyote with small wounds in their neighbor’s backyard at 3:24 p.m. Sunday at 7 Lawndale Ave. The ACO called but will not be responding.
Complaints
A caller phoned in a noise complaint at 3:07 a.m. Sunday at 561 Lincoln Ave. #2, telling police loud music has been playing for several hours. Dispatched officers reported the music has been shut off for the evening.
A caller reported sewage backup coming up in her downstairs sink at 4:50 p.m. Monday at 138 Essex St.
Disturbances
A report of a man walking in the median at 9:35 p.m. Sunday at Square One Mall, 1201 Broadway. Police performed an area search and did not find anything.
A caller reported hearing a loud argument in the apartment next to her at 4:34 p.m. Monday at 20 Newhall Ave. #305. Officers reported a verbal argument between mother and son, and peace was restored.
A caller reported a man in a black jacket causing a disturbance over the item he was trying to buy at 9:21 p.m. Monday at Walmart, 770 Broadway. Officers reported the man left before they arrived.
Fraud
A walk-in at 5:41 p.m. Sunday reported someone recently hacked her iCloud and is asking for money.
Recoveries
Police recovered a motor vehicle reported stolen out of Bangor, Maine at 10:36 a.m. Sunday at Five Guys Burgers & Fries, 180 Main St. Apt. #70.
The owner at U-Haul Co. of Boston, 66 Broadway reported at 9:41 a.m. Monday two trailers that were entered as stolen have been found.
Suspicious
A caller reported a motor vehicle she didn’t recognize was parked in her driveway at 55 Fairmount Ave. when she returned from work at 3:52 a.m. Sunday. Officers contacted the vehicle’s registered owner who said his son had the car and had driven to a friend’s house. He gave an officer the keys to the vehicle so it could be removed from the driveway.
Thefts
A Walmart employee called police to report detaining two shoplifters at 5:44 p.m. Sunday at 770 Broadway.
A report of multiple catalytic converter thefts overnight at 9:38 a.m. Monday at U-Haul Co. of Boston, 66 Broadway.
Threats
A caller at 12:52 p.m. Monday at Laurel Gardens, 2 Rice St. #122 reported a neighbor threatening her who was no longer on scene. Dispatched officer reported no threats were made.
An employee at the Verizon Store, 723 Broadway reported a past larceny of four cell phone cases at 1:56 p.m. Monday. An officer was sent an hour later due to high call volume and reported the incident took place around 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 and a Hispanic 5-foot-6-inch man left the scene in a black BMW sedan.
Unlawful driver
Police stopped a motor vehicle at 10:39 a.m. Monday at Central and Denver Streets and found the operator has a suspended license in Massachusetts. The driver’s wife took possession of the vehicle.
Unwanted
The front desk at the Avalon Motel, 1529 Broadway called police at 1:27 p.m. Monday reporting a male party in room 17 refusing to leave. The man was uncooperative but left after police arrived.
A caller reported an unwanted party at 1:55 p.m. Monday at Dunkin Donuts, 1539 Broadway who has been asked to leave by police earlier. An officer dropped the person off at a Malden T station.
PEABODY
Animal control
A report on Monday at 10:15 a.m. from a caller who said there was a loose dog behind USA Speedy Auto, 108 Newbury St.
Arrests
Shane M. McNally, 23, 25A Birch St., Peabody was arrested on a Peabody PD warrant for strangulation or suffocation, assault and battery with dangerous weapons and serious body injury and mayhem.
Assist citizen
A report on Monday at 4:18 p.m. from a property owner at 18 Nickerson Road who said the previous tenant had left items believed to be a bebe gun or firearm inside the house. Police determined the items were toys.
Summons
Francisco Charles, 44, 193 Federal St., Salem was summonsed on charges of failing to stop/yield and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Suspicious activity
A report on Monday at 10:44 a.m. from a caller who said a suspicious male attempted to get into the caller’s car at the Big Y PLaza, 637 Lowell St. The male had several dollar bills and offered to buy the caller’s infant child from her. Officer spoke to the male who said it was a misunderstanding. The male’s wife confirmed he has early stages of dementia.
A report on Monday at 2:53 p.m. of two suspicious males in ski masks and hoods walking about the caller’s property near 27 Summit Terrace. The two parties were the neighbor’s landscapers.
