BRIGHTON — An 18-year-old Lynn woman was ordered held on revoked bail after she allegedly stole money, cannabis, and other items from an Allston smoke shop Sunday before allegedly attacking police while being arrested, said Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden.
Kaylee O’Connor was arraigned in the Brighton Division of Boston Municipal Court Monday on charges of unarmed robbery, assault, and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, receiving stolen property, possession of Class D substance, underage possession of liquor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Judge Stephen McClenon revoked O’Connor’s bail on an existing case, set $2,000 bail on the new charges, and ordered her to stay away from the location of the crime, stay away from her co-defendants, and remain drug and alcohol-free, Hayden’s office said in a statement.
During the arraignment, Assistant District Attorney Daniel Addady said Boston police responded to a call for a robbery at Fast Eddie’s Smoke Shop on Harvard Street in Allston at about 1:56 p.m. on Sunday. An employee told officers that three individuals, two males, and a female, had robbed the store of $506 in cash, two large bongs, a mason jar containing cannabis, and a container of CBD tablets, the statement said.
Soon after, officers on Commonwealth Avenue observed three individuals matching the descriptions provided by witnesses — O’Connor, Angelo Jones-Saucer, 18, of Boston, and a juvenile, the statement said.
Addady said that when officers ordered the three to stop, the individuals ignored the commands and began to walk in different directions near 1465 Commonwealth. Officers arrested the juvenile suspect without incident.
The female suspect, later identified as O’Connor, allegedly tried to run away from officers. After being handcuffed, O’Connor allegedly became combative and kicked a police officer in the leg, Addady said.
Addady said that O’Connor continually smashed her head on the inside of the cruiser while being transported for booking.
While undergoing a pat frisk for weapons, Jones allegedly became assaultive toward officers, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a lock-blade knife.
Addady said that officers had to pry the knife from his hands. He allegedly kicked, head-butted, and attempted to bite officers before being placed into a cruiser, where he proceeded to kick the closed doors.
