LYNN — A 31-year-old Malden man facing a murder charge in connection with a homicide in the city last year was ordered held without bail pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing at his arraignment Friday, according to the Essex district attorney’s office.

Junior St. Jean was arrested in Florida this week after officials issued a warrant for his arrest earlier this year, according to Carrie Kimball, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office. He was transported to Massachusetts on Wednesday to face charges of murder, armed assault with intent to murder, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a dangerous weapon (4th offense), two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon by discharging a firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and possession of a firearm without an FID card.

St. Jean will return to court on Oct. 18.

On May 31, 2021, Lynn police were called to 234 S Common St. at around 8:41 p.m. for a report of an individual that had been shot, Kimball said. Upon arrival, officers found Brian Poitras, 35, who lived at the South Common Street address, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Poitras was taken to Mass General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On June 14, 2021, officials arrested Nick Volmar, 31, of Everett, on a charge of accessory after the fact of murder. Volmar was later indicted. He will return to court on Sept. 26.

Ronald Edouazin, 28, was also indicted for accessory after the fact, Kimball said. He will return to court on Oct. 14.
