PEABODY — Several Peabody nurses have been recognized for excellence by Care Dimensions in honor of National Nurses Week, which runs from May 6-12.
A total of 269 nurses, most of whom are board-certified in hospice and palliative care, were recognized for their professionalism, leadership and commitment to excellence.
Honorees include Peabody residents Ousman Badjie, Anjole R. Censullo, Tanya Cesar, Soraya Croughwell, Clair I. Darrah, Ellen Dumas, Erin Hill, Patricia A. Howard, Lisa Josselyn, Elaine Lendall, Robert A. Painchaud, Kanchanathitar Patrican, Maria L. Robitaille, and Robin J. Schweizer, and Lynnfield resident Amy Flynn.
“We are so proud of our nursing staff; nurses are gifted with the ability to discern the worry and apprehension that folks can’t quite get into words when they are feeling vulnerable and isolated,” said Care Dimensions President and CEO Patricia Ahern.
Peabody Director of Health and Human Services Sharon Cameron said the city is “incredibly fortunate” to have a contingent of outstanding public health and school nurses working under the leadership of Public Health Nurse Chassea Robinson and School Nurse Leader Brenda Wolff.
“Throughout the pandemic, Peabody’s public-health and school nurses have worked tirelessly to provide information and resources to our residents,” Cameron said.
She also said the city’s nurses have performed multiple services for city residents, which includes providing the most up-to-date quarantine and isolation guidance and contact tracing; facilitating access to COVID testing; running vaccine clinics; educating businesses, childcare providers and schools on COVID-safety protocols; and connecting residents with access to mental health, food, and financial resources.
“During this time of unprecedented challenges, Peabody’s public-health and school nurses have responded with energy, compassion, creativity, and professionalism, and our community is safer for their efforts. On Nurse Appreciation Day, we thank them for all they do,” said Cameron.
Since Care Dimensions was founded in 1978 as the Hospice of North Shore, Care Dimensions said its nurses have helped patients make the most of every day.
