BOSTON — A 29-year-old Lynn man was arrested last Thursday for assaulting two men who tried to break up an argument he had started with an elderly woman on the Blue Line, Transit Police said.
Transit Police responded to a report of a disturbance at 10:41 a.m. last Thursday at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Aquarium Station, and were alerted to a man who had started an argument with an elderly woman on the train because he did not like how she was “strangely” looking at him.
The man, later identified as Omar Singhateh, allegedly became aggressive with the woman. Two male passengers, ages 31 and 60, tried to intervene and calm Singhateh down, but their efforts escalated the situation, Transit Police said.
Singhateh allegedly turned his attention toward the two men, punching and kicking the 60-year-old man and punching the 31-year-old who tried to break up the assault on the older man, Transit Police said.
Both victims pointed out Singhateh to responding officers, who placed him under arrest for multiple assault charges, Transit Police said.
