School Sports Roundup: St. Mary’s girls basketball picks up home victory

The St. Mary's girls basketball team returned to the court with a bang Tuesday night, getting a full team effort to pick up a 55-38 win over Catholic Central League foe Cathedral at Tony Conigliaro Gymnasium.

Yirsy Queliz continued her solid start to the season with a team-high 16 points, while Niya Morgen was close behind with 15 points. Kellyn Preira added 11 points in the victory.

St. Mary's (7-1) returns to the court Friday evening (6:30) for a road date with perennial rival Bishop Fenwick, which is also among one of the top teams in the state this year.
