SALEM — The Salem Five Charitable Foundation awarded $27,500 to 11 different not-for-profit organizations including the Lynn Shelter Association (LSA) and The Caleb Group in Swampscott on Monday.
The LSA provides shelter and support services to homeless individuals and families in the Greater Lynn area. The Caleb Group provides secure, affordable homes and builds stable communities that offer diverse populations the tools and resources to empower individuals to make positive changes in their lives.
The donations are a part of Salem Five’s “Make a Difference in December” program, which identifies organizations that did not receive grants from the foundation during the calendar year, yet whose track record of helping people is well established — making them eligible to each receive a $2,500 donation.
“There are many great organizations making our communities a better place to work and live, so we use this program to make sure we are supporting organizations that truly improve people’s lives,” said Salem Five President and CEO Ping Yin Chai. “It is a privilege to support these organizations, particularly during the season of giving.”
The Salem Five Charitable Foundation was founded in 1996 and works to support not-for-profit organizations that are making a positive impact in the communities served by the bank.
