SALEM ― Registration for businesses interested in being a part of the 2022 North Shore Diversity Catalog is open until Feb. 1, following the success of the first catalog of its kind this past year.
To participate in the catalog, businesses must be located in Salem, Beverly, Danvers, Lynn, Marblehead, Nahant, Peabody, Salem or Swampscott.
Businesses must also have 51 percent of its ownership belonging to someone who is an immigrant, LGBTQ, Black/African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.
With more than 100 local businesses featured in the 2021 Diversity Catalog, Salem and its partner municipalities are looking to update listings and increase participation from more businesses of diverse ownerships.
Mayor Kimberley Driscoll said she is excited to continue Salem’s partnership with the neighboring communities as registration opens for the next Diversity Catalog.
“It not only offered municipalities a directory of businesses with diverse ownership for procurement purposes, it also provided a resource to residents who wanted to shop local and support our diverse business community,” Driscoll said. “Together we can continue to build upon this community resource and marketing tool, making it further reaching and even more helpful than it was last year.”
The North Shore Diversity Catalog was created as a tool to help businesses share information about the services they provide or the products they offer.
The catalog identifies the diverse array of business owners in the region so they can better connect with opportunities for municipal procurement.
Registration will be open until Feb. 1 and can be done by filling out a form online at tinyurl.com/2022DiversityCatalog.
The form is also available in Spanish at tinyurl.com/2022DiversityCatalogEspanol.
Registrations submitted after Feb. 1 will be allowed, but the entry into the catalog for late registrants may be delayed.
Businesses from the 2021 catalog will also have to go to the registration link to confirm the business’ information and update anything if needed.
The 2022 catalog will be published on the City of Salem’s website, promoted by the partner municipalities, and shared with local chambers of commerce, main streets organizations, and other community groups.
