LYNNFIELD — One of the most popular winter activities at MarketStreet Lynnfield is back.
The MarketStreet Ice Rink will open for an eighth season on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m.
Due to the pandemic, the rink was not open last year.
“We could not be happier to bring the MarketStreet Rink back for families to enjoy the season together in the fresh air. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a community hub that offers something magical for everyone,” said MarketStreet Lynnfield General Manager Charlotte Woods.
This year, the rink has a few new twists, including six cast-iron chimenea gas fire pits and benches around the perimeter of the rink, giving skaters and non-skaters a place to relax, cozy up, and enjoy time with loved ones.
The rink will feature an illuminating spectacle of new rink lights surrounding the ice and a specially-curated and rotating playlist of music hits and seasonal favorites, amplified through the rink’s state-of-the-art speaker system.
The Warming Tent is back and will again offer skate rentals and a place for skaters to get warm.
Located on The Green, the rink will be open through February depending on the weather.
In celebration of the rink’s opening weekend, guests who purchase an admission ticket will be treated to a live DJ performance from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13. The first 500 skaters to hit the ice will receive complimentary hot chocolate. Special treats from MarketStreet businesses, such as free appetizer vouchers to Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, will also be given away. Skaters can enjoy hourly gift card giveaways and complimentary winter swag provided throughout the entire weekend (while supplies last).
The rink will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3-8 p.m., Wednesday from 1-8 p.m., Friday from 3-9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Skating hours and conditions are weather permitting. The rink will also have extended hours (open at 10 a.m.) during winter break and February vacation.
Rink passes are $10 per person with children ages 3 and under admitted free. Skate rentals are available.
