LYNN — The No. 11 Lynn Tech boys soccer team put together a complete effort Saturday afternoon at Manning Field, knocking off No. 22 Whitinsville Christian by a score of 2-0 in the Division 4 tournament Round of 32.
Sophomore wing Gregiore Amissi was the star of the show for the Tigers in the win, scoring both goals.
The two teams battled from start to finish, and it was a stalemate for the entire first half. But when the two teams went into the locker room for the halftime break with the score tied at 0-0, Tech felt that it had the advantage.
That advantage came to fruition just nine minutes into the second half, as Amissi broke free and found the back of the net to put the Tigers ahead 1-0. That score held until there were just five minutes left to play, when Amissi effectively sealed the win with his second goal of the game.
Tech (13-4-1) moves on to the Division 4 Round of 16, where it will play on the road at No. 6 West Bridgewater Wednesday afternoon (4).
