The Lynn Classical volleyball team dominated Friday evening, winning in straight sets (25-3, 25-11, 25-5) over Everett in a Greater Boston League matchup on the road. Chloe Clement led the way with 13 kills and seven aces. Izzy Faessler was also a factor with four aces and six assists.
For head coach Christopher LeBlanc, Friday night was about getting to give some playing time to players all over the roster.
“The best part of the night was we were able to get some much-needed rest for some of our starters and more importantly some playing time for our reserves,” he said.
This included freshman outside hitter Amanda Hughes stepping in for the third set and playing a clean rotation including the first two service points of her career.
Lynn Classical is now 13-0 and faces Malden on Tuesday.
VOLLEYBALL
Lynn Tech 3, KIPP 0
The Tigers took three straight sets (25-23, 25-13, 25-23) behind Jasinairy Camilo’s four aces and five assists. Lynn Tech also got help from Derlande Montas (five kills and two aces), Nadesha Martinez (three aces and four kills), and Ariella Long (four aces and six digs).
Head coach Kaitlyn Wechsler called it an “all-around great team win” for Lynn Tech.
The Tigers are now 5-6 on the season.
Peabody 3, North Reading 0
Taking three straight sets (25-17, 25-12, 25-17) thanks to 12 service points from Sarah Broughton, Abby Bettencourt’s 14 assists and four kills, and Isabel Bettencourt’s eight kills and four aces, Peabody was victorious on Friday evening.
The Tanners are now 9-3 and take on Masconomet at home on Wednesday.
Beverly 3, Marblehead 2
The Magicians came up short with Beverly taking the final set 15-11. Keira Sweetnam had 21 kills, five aces, and three blocks while Lilah Thompson had 14 kills and five blocks.
Caitlin Parkman finished with 21 digs and Julia Potvin was outstanding for Marblehead with five kills and 40 assists.
The Magicians are now 8-3 this season.
BOYS SOCCER
Swampscott 2, Greater Lowell 2
John Frederickson and Lucas Bereaud found the back of the net for the Big Blue.
Swampscott is now 4-3-1 and faces Beverly on Monday at home (6:30)

Tony Novack shot a 28 and Connor Cunningham shot a 27 for the Crusaders.
Bishop Fenwick fell to 5-6 and has a matchup against Cardinal Spellman on Tuesday (2:30).

Charlie Grenier and Christopher Locke shared medalist honors shooting 39 on Friday.
