Nick Maccario moves on to semifinal round of U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship

The hot streak continued for former St. John's Prep star Nick Maccario on Wednesday, as the Bradford Country Club member rolled to two more match-play victories and punched his ticket into the semifinal round of the 40th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Sankaty Head Golf Club in Siasconset. 

"I played a really heavy national schedule this year and didn’t necessarily get the results I wanted,” said Maccario. "But it certainly taught me a lot about the game and taught me a lot about how some of the best players play those golf courses. And now, being in my home state, knowing the weather and having played in the wind and everything else has certainly been helpful."

Maccario, who was named the Mass Golf 2020 Richard D. Haskell Player of the Year, now stands just 54 holes away from not only the U.S. Mid-Amateur title, but also a trip to both the 2022 Masters Tournament and the 2…
