A motor vehicle crash was reported at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday on Route 128 north. Two cars were towed. Maria Almeida-Eduarda, 21, of 212 North St., Salem, was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Breaking and Entering
A report of an attempted burglary at 10:36 p.m. Tuesday at 82 Lowell St. A caller reported someone was trying to break into her home. The call was disconnected before further information could be obtained. Police got the caller back on the line after several attempts; the caller said someone had attempted to gain entry through the back door, but she was OK. Police reported the call was unfounded after responding to the home.
A report of a motor vehicle breaking and entering at 10:27 a.m. Wednesday at 77 Main St. A catalytic converter was taken.
Theft
A report of a larceny at 1:01 p.m. Wednesday at Northshore Community Action at 119 Foster St. A caller reported a stolen debit card with fraudulent charges. The caller said their debit card was stolen while they were at Salem Hospital three months ago. The caller was advised to contact Salem Hospital security or Salem Police.
Vandalism
A report of vandalism at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday at 286 Newbury St. A caller reported her neighbor shot a BB gun through her window. The neighbor agreed to pay for damages.

A report of a motor vehicle crash with injury at 7:23 a.m. Tuesday at Square One Mall, 1201 Broadway. One person was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
At 7:31 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a motor vehicle crash at 517 Broadway. Airbags were deployed and ambulances took two people to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
A report of a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash at 2:46 p.m. Tuesday at the Barnes & Noble parking lot at 444 Broadway.
Animals
At 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, police assisted animal control with a raccoon on Main Street. One round was fired.
Complaints
At 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, a well-being check was requested for a woman who was lying on the ground of the parking lot with her pants down. The caller said a man was standing with her. An officer checked the area and reported no such person could be found.
A report of suspicious activity at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday at the Essex Street overpass. A caller reported youths were throwing things off the overpass onto the highway. An officer reported nothing was showing.
Vandalism
A report of motor vehicle vandalism at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Traveler at 1753 Broadway.
