LYNN — Police have arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly intentionally crashing a Jeep into a State Police trooper on the Lynnway Sunday morning.
Wilmer Arias-Cespedes, of Mattapan, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (vehicle), failure to stop for police and speeding.
The trooper sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, which State Police said occurred after the trooper had responded to a noise complaint at a business on the Lynnway.
Following the crash, which occurred at approximately 2 a.m., a BOLO (be on the lookout) broadcast was sent out for the suspect vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said.
The driver, Arias-Cespedes, was arraigned in Lynn District Court Monday and was ordered held without bail, police said.
