LYNN — A General Electric worker was badly burned Saturday morning while working near a transformer at the company’s plant on Western Avenue, Fire Capt. Joseph Zukas said.
At approximately 8:28 a.m., the Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an electrical injury at GE River Works, located at 1000 Western Ave. A man in his 40s suffered burns to his face and arm and was taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital.
The man’s condition is not known, but Zukas said he was conscious and alert when firefighters left the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
