LYNN — The fifth and final week of the Stop the Violence Friday night basketball league’s regular season wrapped up with three marquee games.
In the first game of the night, Team LYSOA took down Lights Out Shooting Gym 90-82. Marcos Echevarria led the scoring attack for Team LYSOA with 22 points, while Myles Manalaysay was close behind with 21 points. For Lights Out Shooting Gym, Jalen Echevarria was the game’s high scorer with 31 points.
The second game saw Team BRK come up with an 89-81 win over Team Centerboard. Jeff Hill was Team BRK’s top scorer with 31 points, closely followed by David Brown with 27 points. Alvin Abreu scored more points than anyone else in any other game, dropping 40 in the loss for Team Centerboard. Yael Vizcaino added 18 points.
The final game of the night was an 80-68 win by Teamsters Local 42 over Lynn Police Association. Jayden Thornton scored 32 points to lead Teamsters Local 42, while Onais Marbel added 20 points. Lynn Police Association was led by Mack Peters’ 23 points, while Marquise Echevarria was close behind with 19 points.
The Stop the Violence basketball league will come to a close next week, with the playoffs and championship game scheduled for next Friday night.
